And today's False controversy rages on-
Right Wing Bloggers continue to rage about "Jamil Hussein" - An Iraqi police officer who dared report some Iraqis being killed in sectarian violence.
Those idiots claimed first that the AP was lying. They claimed that there was no sectarian violence, that there is no civil war, and hey- there's not even an Iraqi police officer who reported such a thing. He doesn't exist, they said, foaming at the mouths.
They were wrong.
Now, after being proved wrong again and again, and (rubbing my throbbing temple) again- they now are threatening to reveal the true name of the Iraqi police officer, who, (throb) they said didn't Exist in the first place!
Ta-Da! (or Ta-DUH?) What the fuck is wrong with these people?
So Now, since they have LOST the argument, Fuck it- they will pronounce a death sentence on the Iraqi Police officer for daring to do his job and report on the violence. Actually, I think the crime in their tiny little minds is that an Iraqi dared to speak to the press about it.
The military tried to protect the Iraqi police officer (and simultaneously downplay the violence) by pretending he didn't exist. The AP was pretty much quiet about it, too, at first.
But the Right wing bloggers didn't stop there. No, I imagine they thought that images of Iraqis being burned alive would bring back an influx of burning monk media from VietNam. And in their backwards mindset, THAT is what lost the war in VietNam.
So they forced the AP to give more details, calling the AP liars, over and over. Why? Cause the US military said so! And they NEVER, EVER lie to the American public do they?
So now- the AP came down on the military to back up their story and the Military had to admit they had lied initially. Thus, the RIGHT WING BLOGGERS have JUST undermined the credibility of the U.S. Military and proven the AP is more reliable for news of what is happening in Iraq than the military (which, of course, to any Sane American, is a given).
Is your head pounding yet with the absurdity of these fucking losers? But wait- There's more!
Now, they have been proven WRONG. And proven wrong in quite a dramatic fashion after all their hysterics and elaborate accusations of lying.
So what do you think you would do, after screwing up so badly? Crawl under your bed, shut off your pc, and stop blogging?
No, that's defeatist rhetoric you liberal truthlovers! No, what you do is- you out the fucker that embarrassed you, with some inside military information that you got anonymously.
And like a commenter noted on Jesus General- It might be the right name of "Jamil Hussein", and it might not. If it is, you have successfully issued a death sentence on this man and his family. If it isn't you have successfully issued a death sentence on the wrong man and his family.
Why? Well, uh, because left wing bloggers outed a bunch of Republicans as closet fags, that's why!!
And, to one of these cowardly right wing bloggers, who cares? They are just goddamn Iraqis, after all? Fuck em! Woo hoo! And in their minds, a few more Iraqis will be shut up about the horrific mess their country has been made into by the U.S. And maybe Iraq can more quietly self destruct while their heroes loot the country and empower Iran. And more American soldiers can be shot and blown up on roadsides so that Oil contracts can be safely procured.
These right wingers don't give a damn. They are masturbating furiously to Red Dawn about Americans blowing up shit and kicking ass- not realizing that in Iraq- We are the Invaders and the insurgents are the Wolverines.
And the fact is that this one story that these single minded bastards clutch at, about Jamil Hussein- the story that you will have to pry out of their cold, dead hands is JUST ONE STORY.
Out of thousands of stories of bloodshed and murder, it's just one. Every single day hundreds of people die in Iraq, some of them Americans. The lunatics on the right wing can't refute the other stories, and in the end, they can't EVEN REFUTE this one sad, evil act of civil war in a country destroyed by America.
The United States hasn't struck a blow against terror. It has created an ENTIRE NATION Of Terrorists. It has taken away Iran's biggest enemy. It has guaranteed decades of terrorists to come.
All with the help of these right wing fanatics that desperately want to live out their "manhood" vicariously through a glorious war that they don't have to take part in, except, like their President, as goddamn cheerleaders on the sidelines.
Thank you bastards so much.

Off the beaten path
"Imperious, choleric, irascible, extreme in everything, with a dissolute imagination the like of which has never been seen, atheistic to the point of fanaticism, there you have me in a nutshell.... Kill me again or take me as I am, for I shall not change."
- Last Will and Testament of the Marquis De Sade.
Dialogue between a Priest and a dying man -
from Works (1782) The Marquis De Sade
PRIEST - Come to this the fatal hour when at last from the eyes of deluded man the scales must fall away, and be shown the cruel picture of his errors and his vices - say, my son, do you not repent the host of sins unto which you were led by weakness and human frailty?
DYING MAN - Yes, my friend, I do repent.
PRIEST - Rejoice then in these pangs of remorse, during the brief space remaining to you profit therefrom to obtain Heaven’s general absolution for your sins, and be mindful of it, only through the mediation of the Most Holy Sacrament of penance will you be granted it by the Eternal.
DYING MAN - I do not understand you, any more than you have understood me.
PRIEST - Eh?
DYING MAN - I told you that I repented.
PRIEST - I heard you say it.
DYING MAN - Yes, but without understanding it.
PRIEST - My interpretation -
DYING MAN - Hold. I shall give you mine. By Nature created, created with very keen tastes, with very strong passions; placed on this earth for the sole purpose of yielding to them and satisfying them, and these effects of my creation being naught but necessities directly relating to Nature’s fundamental designs or, if you prefer, naught but essential derivatives proceeding from her intentions in my regard, all in accordance with her laws, I repent not having acknowledged her omnipotence as fully as I might have done, I am only sorry for the modest use I made of the faculties (criminal in your view, perfectly ordinary in mine) she gave me to serve her; I did sometimes resist her, I repent it. Misled by your absurd doctrines, with them for arms I mindlessly challenged the desires instilled in me by a much diviner inspiration, and thereof do I repent: I only plucked an occasional flower when I might have gathered an ample harvest of fruit - such are the just grounds for the regrets I have, do me the honor of considering me incapable of harboring any others.
PRIEST - Lo! where your fallacies take you, to what pass are you brought by your sophistries! To created being you ascribe all the Creator’s power, and those unlucky penchants which have led you astray, ah! do you not see they are merely the products of corrupted nature, to which you attribute omnipotence?
DYING MAN -Friend - it looks to me as though your dialectic were as false as your thinking. Pray straighten your arguing or else leave me to die in peace. What do you mean by Creator, and what do you mean by corrupted nature?
PRIEST - The Creator is the master of the universe, ‘tis He who has wrought everything, everything created, and who maintains it all through the mere fact of His omnipotence.
DYING MAN - An impressive figure indeed. Tell me now why this so very formidable fellow did nevertheless, as you would have it, create a corrupted nature?
PRIEST - What glory would men ever have, had not God left them free will; and in the enjoyment thereof, what merit could come to them, were there not on earth the possibility of doing good and that of avoiding evil?
DYING MAN - And so your god bungled his work deliberately, in order to tempt or test his creature - did he then not know, did he then not doubt what the result would be?
PRIEST - He knew it undoubtedly but, once again, he wished to leave man the merit of choice.
DYING MAN - And to what purpose, since from the outset he knew the course affairs would take and since, all-mighty as you tell me he is, he had but to make his creature choose as suited him?
PRIEST - Who is there can penetrate God’s vast and infinite designs regarding man, and who can grasp all that makes up the universal scheme?
DYING MAN - Anyone who simplifies matters, my friend, anyone, above all, who refrains from multiplying causes in order to confuse effects all the more. What need have you of a second difficulty when you are unable to resolve the first, and once it is possible that Nature may have all alone done what you attrubute to your god, why must you go looking for someone to be her overlord? The cause and explanation of what you do not understand may perhaps be the simplest thing in the world. Perfect your physics and you will understand Nature better, refine your reason, banish your prejudices and you’ll have no further need of your god.
PRIEST - Wretched man! I took you for no worse than a Socinian - arms I had to combat you. But ‘tis clear you are an athiest, and seeing that your heart is shut to the authentic and innumerable proofs we receive every day of our lives of the Creator’s existence - I have no more to say to you. There is no restoring the blind to the light.
DYING MAN - Softly, my friend, own that between the two, he who blindfolds himself must surely see less of the light than he who snatches the blindfold away from his eyes. You compose, you construct, you dream, you magnify and complicate; I sift, I simplify. You accumulate errors, pile one atop the other; I combat them all. Which one of us is blind?
PRIEST - Then you do not believe in God at all?
DYING MAN - No. And for one very sound reason: it is perfectly impossible to believe in what one does not understand. Between understanding and faith immediate connections must subsist; understanding is the very lifeblood of faith; where understanding has ceased, faith is dead; and when they who are in such a case proclaim they have faith, they deceive.
You yourself, preacher, I defy you to believe in the god you predicate to me - you must fail because you cannot demonstrate him to me, because it is not in you to define him to me, because consequently you do not understand him - because as of the moment you do not understand him, you can no longer furnish me any reasonable argument concerning him, and because, in sum, anything beyond the limits and grasp of the human mind is either illusion or futility; and because your god having to be one or the other of the two, in the first instance I should be mad to believe in him, in the second a fool.
My friend, prove to me that matter is inert and I will grant you a creator, prove to me that Nature does not suffice to herself and I’ll let you imagine her ruled by a higher force; until then, expect nothing from me, I bow to evidence only, and evidence I perceive only through my senses: my belief goes no farther than they, beyond that point my faith collapses. I believe in the sun because I see it, I conceive it as the focal center of all the inflammable matter in Nature, its periodic movement pleases but does not amaze me. ‘Tis a mechanical operation, perhaps as simple as the workings of electricity, but which we are unable to understand.
Need I bother more about it? when you have roofed everything over with your god, will I be any the better off? and shall I still not have to make an effort at least as great to understand the artisan as to define his handiwork? By edifying your chimera it is thus no service you have rendered me, you have made me uneasy in my mind but you have not enlightened it, and instead of gratitude I owe you resentment.
Your god is a machine you fabricated in your passions’ behalf, you manipulated it to their liking; but the day it interfered with mine, I kicked it out of my way, deem it fitting that I did so; and now, at this moment when I sink and my soul stands in need of calm and philosophy, belabor it not with your riddles and your cant, which alarm but will not convince it, which will irritate without improving it; good friends and on the best terms have we ever been, this soul and I, so Nature wished it to be; as it is, so she expressly modeled it, for my soul is the result of the dispositions she formed in me pursuant to her own ends and needs; and as she has an equal need of vices and virtues, whenever she was pleased to move me to evil, she did so, whenever she wanted a good deed from me, she roused in me the desire to perform one, and even so I did as I was bid. Look nowhere but to her workings for the unique cause of our fickle human behavior, and in her laws hope to find no other springs than her will and her requirements.
PRIEST - And so whatever is in this world, is necessary.
DYING MAN - Exactly.
PRIEST - But is everything is necessary - then the whole is regulated.
DYING MAN - I am not the one to deny it.
PRIEST - And what can regulate the whole save it be an all-powerful and all-knowing hand?
DYING MAN - Say, is it not necessary that gunpowder ignite when you set a spark to it?
PRIEST - Yes.
DYING MAN - And do you find any presence of wisdom in that?
PRIEST - None.
DYING MAN - It is then possible that things necessarily come about without being determined by a superior intelligence, and possible hence that everything derive logically from a primary cause, without there being either reason or wisdom in that primary cause.
PRIEST - What are you aiming at?
DYING MAN - At proving to you that the world and all therein may be what it is and as you see it to be, without any wise and reasoning cause directing it, and that natural effects must have natural causes: natural causes sufficing, there is no need to invent any such unnatural ones as your god who himself, as I have told you already, would require to be explained and who would at the same time be the explanation of nothing; and that once ‘tis plain your god is superfluous, he is perfectly useless; that what is useless would greatly appear to be imaginary only, null and therefore non-existent; thus, to conclude that your god is a fiction I need no other argument than that which furnishes me the certitude of his inutility.
PRIEST - At that rate there is no great need for me to talk to you about religion.
DYING MAN - True, but why not anyhow? Nothing so much amuses me as this sign of the extent to which human beings have been carried away by fanaticism and stupidity; although the prodigious spectacle of folly we are facing here may be horrible, it is always interesting. Answer me honestly, and endeavor to set personal considerations aside: were I weak enough to fall victim to your silly theories concerning the fabulous existence of the being who renders religion necessary, under what form would you advise me to worship him? Would you have me adopt the daydreams of Confucius rather than the absurdities of Brahma, should I kneel before the great snake to which the blacks pray, invoke the Peruvian’s sun or Moses’ Lord of Hosts, to which Mohammedan sect should I rally, or which Christian heresy would be preferable in your view? Be careful how you reply.
PRIEST - Can it be doubtful?
DYING MAN - Then ‘tis egotistical.
PRIEST - No, my son, ‘tis as much out of love for thee as for myself I urge thee to embrace my creed.
DYING MAN - And I wonder how the one or the other of us can have much love for himself, to deign to listen to such degrading nonsense.
PRIEST - But who can be mistaken about the miracles wrought by our Divine Redeemer?
DYING MAN - He who sees in him anything else than the most vulgar of all tricksters and the most arrent of all imposters.
PRIEST - O God, you hear him and your wrath thunders not forth!
DYING MAN - No my friend, all is peace and quiet around us, because your god, be it from impotence or from reason or from whatever you please, is a being whose existence I shall momentarily concede out of condescension for you or, if you prefer, in order to accommodate myself to your sorry little perspective; because this god, I say, were he to exist, as you are mad enough to believe, could not have selected as means to persuade us, anything more ridiculous than those your Jesus incarnates.
PRIEST - What! the prophecies, the miracles, the martyrs - are they not so many proofs?
DYING MAN - How, so long as I abide by the rules of logic, how would you have me accept as proof anything which itself is lacking proof? Before a prophecy could constitute proof I should first have to be completely certain it was ever pronounced; the prophecies history tells us of belong to history and for me they can only have the force of other historical facts, whereof three out of four are exceedingly dubious; if to this I add the strong probability that they have been transmitted to us by not very objective historians, who recorded what they preferred to have us read, I shall be quite within my rights if I am Skeptical. And furthermore, who is there to assure me that this prophecy was not made after the fact, that it was not a stratagem of everyday political scheming, like that which predicts a happy reign under a just king, or frost in wintertime?
As for your miracles, I am not any readier to be taken in by such rubbish. All rascals have performed them, all fools have believed in them; before I’d be persuaded of the truth of a miracle I would have to be very sure the event so called by you was absolutely contrary to the laws of Nature, for only what is outside of Nature can pass for miraculous; and who is so deeply learned in Nature that he can affirm the precise point where it is infringed upon?
Only two things are needed to accredit an alleged miracle, a mountebank and a few simpletons; tush, there’s the whole origin of your prodigies; all new adherents to a religious sect have wrought some; and more extraordinary still, all have found imbeciles around to believe them.
Your Jesus’ feats do not surpass those of Apollonius of Tyana, yet nobody thinks to take the latter for a god; and when we come to your martyrs, assuredly, these are the feeblest of all your arguments. To produce martyrs you need but to have enthusiasm on the one hand, resistance on the other; and so long as an opposed cause offers me as many of them as does yours, I shall never be sufficiently authorized to believe one better than the other, but rather very much inclined to consider all of them pitiable.
Ah my friend! were it true that the god you preach did exist, would he need miracle, martyr, or prophecy to secure recognition? and if, as you declare, the human heart were of his making, would he not have chosen it for the repository of his law? Then would this law, impartial for all mankind because emanating from a just god, then would it be found graved deep and writ clear in all men alike, and from one end of the world to the other, all men, having this delicate and sensitive organ in common, would also resemble each other through the homage they would render the god whence they had got it; all would adore and serve him in one identical manner, and they would be as incapable of disregarding this god as of resisting the inward impulse to worship him.
Instead of that, what do I behold throughout this world? As many gods as there are countries; as many different cults as there are different minds or different imaginations; and this swarm of opinions among which it physically impossible for me to choose, say now, is this a just god’s doing? Fie upon you, preacher, you outrage your god when you present him to me thus; rather let me deny him completely, for if he exists then I outrage him far less by my incredulity than do you through your blasphemies.
Return to your senses, preacher, your Jesus is no better than Mohammed, Mohammed no better than Moses, and the three of them combined no better than Confucius, who did after all have some wise things to say while the others did naught but rave; in general, though, such people are all mere frauds: philosophers laughed at them, the mob believed them, and justice ought to have hanged them.
PRIEST - Alas, justice dealt only too harshly with one of the four.
DYING MAN - If he alone got what he deserved it was he who deserved it most richly; seditious, turbulent, calumniating, dishonest, libertine, a clumsy buffoon, and very mischievous; he had the art of overawing common folk and stirring up the rabble; and hence came in line for punishment in a kingdom where the state of affairs was what it was in Jerusalem then. They were very wise indeed to get rid of him, and this perhaps is one case in which my extremely lenient and also extremely tolerant maxims are able to allow the severity of Themis; I excuse any misbehavior save that which may endanger the government one lives under, kings and their majesties are the only thing I respect; and whoever does not love his country and his king were better dead than alive.
PRIEST - But you do surely believe something awaits us after this life, you must at some time or another have sought to pierce the dark shadows enshrouding our mortal fate, and what other theory could have satisfied your anxious spirit, than that of the numberless woes that betide him who has lived wickedly, and an eternity of rewards for him whose life has been good?
DYING MAN - What other, my friend? that of nothingness, it has never held terrors for me, in it I see naught but what is consoling and unpretentious; all other theories are of pride’s composition, this one alone is of reason’s. Moreover, ‘tis neither dreadful nor absolute, this nothingness. Before my eyes have I not the example of Nature’s perpetual generations and regenerations? Nothing perishes in the world, my friend, nothing is lost; man today, worm tomorrow, the day after tomorrow a fly; is it not to keep steadily on existing? And what entitles me to be rewarded for virtues which are in me through no fault of my own, or again punished for crimes wherefore the ultimate responsibility is not mine? how are you to put your alleged god’s goodness into tune with this system, and can he have wished to create me in order to reap pleasure from punishing me, and that solely on account of a choice he does not leave me free will to determine?
PRIEST - You are free.
DYING MAN - Yes, in terms of your prejudices; but reason puts them to rout, and the theory of human freedom was never devised except to fabricate that of grace, which was to acquire such importance in your reveries. What man on earth, seeing the scaffold a step beyond the crime, would commit it were he free not to commit it? We are the pawns of an irresistable force, and never for an instant is it within our power to do anything but make the best of our lot and forge ahead along the path that has been traced for us. There is not a single virtue which is not necessary to Nature and conversely not a single crime which she does not need and it is in the perfect balance she maintains between the one and the other that her immense science consists; but can we be guilty for adding our weight to this side or that when it is she who tosses us onto the scales? no more so than the hornet who thrusts his dart into your skin.
PRIEST - Then we should not shrink from the worst of all crimes.
DYING MAN - I say nothing of the kind. Let the evil deed be proscribed by law, let justice smite the criminal, that will be deterrent enough; but if by misfortune we do commit it even so, let’s not cry over spilled milk; remorse is inefficacious, since it does not stay us from crime, futile since it does not repair it, therefore it is absurd to beat one’s breast, more absurd still to dread being punished in another world if we have been lucky to escape it in this. God forbid that this be construed as encouragement to crime, no, we should avoid it as much as we can, but one must learn to shun it through reason and not through false fears which lead to naught and whose effects are so quickly overcome in any moderately steadfast soul.
Reason, sir - yes, our reason alone should warn us that harm done our fellows can never bring happiness to us; and our heart, that contributing to their felicity is the greatest joy Nature has accorded us on earth; the entirety of human morals is contained in this one phrase: Render others as happy as one desires oneself to be, and never inflict more pain upon them than one would like to receive at their hands. There you are, my friend, those are the only principles we should observe, and you need neither god nor religion to appreciate and subscribe to them, you need only have a good heart.
But I feel my strength ebbing away; preacher, put away your prejudices, unbend, be a man, be human, without fear and without hope forget your gods and your religions too: they are none of them good for anything but to set man at odds with man, and the mere name of these horrors has caused greater loss of life on earth than all other wars and all other plagues combined. Renounce the idea of another world; there is none, but do not renounce the pleasure of being happy and of making for happiness in this. Nature offers you no other way of doubling your existence, of extending it. -
My friend, lewd pleasures were ever dearer to me than anything else, I have idolized them all my life and my wish has been to end it in their bosom; my end draws near, six women lovelier than the light of day are waiting in the chamber adjoining, I have reserved them for this moment, partake of the feast with me, following my example embrace them instead of the vain sophistries of superstition, under their caresses strive for a little while to forget your hypocritical beliefs.
NOTE
The dying man rang, the women entered; and after he had been a little while in their arms the preacher became one whom Nature had corrupted, all because he had not succeeded in explaining what a corrupt nature is.
Fed up with Right Wing Terrorist Supporters
"Do you want to win this war, or not" they ask, as if they have a fucking clue to what "winning" entails.
Those who think in broad slashes of black and white are missing the fucking point, as always.
Which war are you blithering morons speaking of?
The War in Iraq is over, at least the U.S.'s part in it. Bush's "surge" is a cruel joke foisted on the soldiers forced to play his pawns.
Or are you talking about The War on Terror? TO Protect the US we need to protect our borders and end the Root CAUSES of terror- not flail about at the end results. You kill it by removing its head, not slicing off toes.
You want to Win In Iraq? It cannot be done at this point. Not without realistic goals to be achieved. You have been HAD. Our current President and his non-military advisers have prevented any chance we had of winning PURPOSELY by raping the country and selling out our OWN TREASURY to their War Profiteer buddies. They wanted Iraq to be a miserable failure so they could get their grimy little hands on the oil.
Think, people THINK.
How could the most powerful country in the world fuck up in a little Podunk country like Iraq that NEVER EVER was a threat? It is because the Neocons NEVER wanted to give Iraq Democracy at all. The goal has been to simply destroy Iraq and steal the oil from day one. They weren't going to trade Saddam Hussein, who was actually IN Their pocket- for a DEMOCRACY.
What are you- fucking retarded? Saddam was taking too big a cut, making too much. So in a page out of the corporate playbook, they eliminated the middle man, much like Bush's pro-corporate stance kills small business in America.
And while they were doing it, they decided the best way to maintain control over the oil was by leveling the whole country while pretending to rebuild it. Then they insert a few puppets here and there to hold some semblance of order and begin looting. It's classic big business. And the cost to America for their Games?
- Thousands of American Servicemen and Women dead.
- Billions of U.S. funds funnelled into the Military Industrial Complex.
- Tens of thousands of our soldiers crippled and maimed and unable to serve any longer.
- Our Country's good name has been dragged in the mud with torture and murder and mayhem by these bloody entrepeneurs.
- Terrorist activity is UP 1000% percent globally.
- America Is NOW the most reviled country on the planet.
- The rich are getting richer and the American middle class is getting poorer.
- Healthcare costs are shooting through the roof and our nation is bankrupt.
And STILL you don't get it. Still you cheerlead ignorantly for these corporate shills and backroom dealing TRAITORS.
It's YOU who supports Terror. It's you who IS A TRAITOR To the American way. By bending over and smiling For Big Dick Cheney everytime he snaps his fingers. YOU and stupid ass Americans like YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for the deaths of our military men, the weakening of our country's security, the looting of our own country's treasury, and the dismantling of the constitutions' protections.
You and those like you MAKE ME SICK. How much more do we have to show you before you get it? You CAN'T be this stupid. Which means you are willingly aiding and abetting terrorism by supporting the liars in our government.
You belong in a cave alright, right next to Osama and the other clueless zealots who have hurt their own countries with their stupidity, arrogance and willingness to commit murder.
Real Americans will render your kind impotent though. Be aware of that. Your cheerleading days are over, you terrorist-supporters. You warhawks have done enough to hurt our country.

All kinds of good stuff from Will Bunch recently.
Will Bunch schools Broder in real journalism...
http://www.attytood.com/archives/003769.html
Bunch also has a great post that skewers the Right Wing Blog Macheen, a group of fools that is so busy bobbing their heads in the president's lap, that they seldom take the time to look around.
http://www.attytood.com/2007/01/lies_during_wartime_1.html
Malkin, LGF and the guy who brands himself a "Confederate Yankee" (Yee-haw what we really needs is slaves, ya'll - Let's start with them ole imgrants!) are embroiled in the mission-to-end-all-missions. Their two pronged task is to PROVE that the Government is Telling us the Truth and that the Associated Press is lying (gasp) LYING To Us about Happy-Happy-Joy-Joy Land (that's rightwing speak for Iraq).
(sigh) I know. I know. Where do these monumental ass kissers come from? How exactly do you grow up believing that a POLITICIAN loves you and is right about Everything? Head up Ass, much, Malkin? No, don't stop verbally massaging his majesty, the Prez, dearie. Go ahead and continue blowing and blowing smoke. We can't impeach a president for the sucking you clowns give every day, anyway.
You know, you would think that Malkin might actually LEARN something from her trip to Iraq, but the only thing she's attempting to do is prove the hair-brained conspiracy theories of the Freeperville Elite. There she is, in front of a mosque that she is trying to prove wasn't bombed, and IT IS MISSING HALF THE FUCKING DOME. What does she think that hole is, a sunroof?
It is one thing to be a blind halfwit. It is quite another to gouge your own eyes out with a fork while singing Yankee Doodle Dandy.
Damn.Good.Post.
Our Little Churchills
The greatest of world leaders never sought to stifle free speech or stop debate about wars that raged during their tenures.
Greenwald does his homework, as always, and points out why EXACTLY the Brit Humes, the Bill Kristols, and the other members of the "Shut up! Shut up!" crowd are wrong, again.
Being silent AT THIS TIME is not patriotic. It's servile and treasonous. Beaten dogs cringe and cower at their oppressor's feet. A real American stands proud and speaks his mind. A real American doesn't turn the other cheek but fights back when he sees his country being mismanaged and his country being hijacked.
Churchill, Lincoln, and Greenwald, for that matter say it much better than I could ever hope to.

The South Rising - and continuing the 50 state agenda
Recently, on Crooks and Liars, there was a post concerning the Democratic party winning big in 2008 by abandoning the "Red States" in the South.
Do The Democrats need the South in 2008?
My comment on that thread:
Please put away the microscope and look at the bigger picture. Yes, to elect a President, the Democratic party WILL need the South. Suhprise.Suhprise.
The good news is that a LOT of southerners are not the dumbass hicks you might believe we are. And we really do understand how bad Bush has screwed the pooch. And we want to change things badly. The bad news is that a lot of my fellow southerners equate Democrats with weakness on security and Liberals with evil atheists. But that's only because they are forcefed that shit by the msm. When more men like Webb, Feingold, and Edwards get out and spread the real gospel of the Democratic party (i.e. working for the common man) the South will rise up for the Democratic party.
Someone bamboozled all these farmers and blue collar workers into thinking that if they supported the Republican party that it would turn them into millionaires. They are slowly coming around.
Please, oh please don't turn your backs on us now. Not while some of us are imbedded combatants fighting every day to change our fellows' perceptions.
And let's not throw out the very real gains from Howard Dean's 50 state strategy as well. As much as some of the northerners would like to label the South bad and write it off, it's not a strategy that's going to win elections.
Sundog, on the same thread, has this to say about it:
Interesting election game plan, - one with a great deal of Northern stereo typing - , but let's not throw the 50 state strategy out with the bath water. The 50 state strategy gives the Democratic Party legitimacy. It shows that we progressives are willing to give the fight in the most socially conservative of voting districts, both North and South. Many voters in the South vote Republican out of ignorance or think the Democratic Party doesn't care about them. There are many minorities here and there are many pockets of rural poverty. In the past, it was frustrating for hard working progressives who knew the true nature of the political battles in the South not to get the needed support from the main party. Dean's 50 state strategy is the way to go forward. It is positive and truly American.
sundog 01.24.07 - 6:39 pm
Fallenmonk Compassionate Conservatism Shines posted about the Republicans killing the Minimum wage bill- which, is another nail they have hammered into their own coffin. If they were trying to still push the illusion that Republicans are a party of the common man, they are failing miserably.
Here's a comment that I made there, and I think it gives us the solution to Saving the South:
We need to keep pushing the truth that the Republican party IS The party of the elite, not the common man. That misconception that Democrats are elites has cost the Democratic party the red states that it once championed (including my own Texas).
Another myth to dispel is the illusion pushed on CNBC and by numerous Repub party hacks that Republicans support small business. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Republican Party supports Big Business and Big business kills small business. Period.
I think that if the Dems can pick up on these two small yet VERY Important facts, that we can take back a big portion of the Red States who have been lied to, over and over by the Republican party.
Divide and Conquer has worked big for the Republican party in the past. Don't let your knee jerk emotions dictate the future of the country. The South is full of damn good people. Don't divide us further. This IS ABOUT AMERICA. This is about us all. Blue collar workers are suffering right now under the elitist Corporate CEO mentality that the country is being run under. That means the people of the South as well as the people in the North and on the coasts. We need to keep on the 50 state strategy and we will persevere.
Send these thoughts to the Democratic leadership, through your various channels. Let your Reps know that the American people want them to speak out against the Republican alliance with Corporate interests. Tell them we want them to ask the public these questions:
Where have All the Small businesses gone under the Supreme Republican Leadership?
Why is there a chinese supplied Wal-Mart in every major city?
Why are corporations making record profits while tens of thousands of small businesses go belly up?
It's not rocket science. Take away all the Corporate Tax shelters and cuts and benefits from this administration and Small Businesses might have a fighting chance against Big Business.
It's time for Americans to realize: Supporting the Republican Party means DOOMING small businesses. And it has been for years. Wake the hell up. In the Perfect Larry Kudlow America- Corporations own everything and individuals own nothing except their social security investment accounts (with nothing in them).Corporations Kill Small Business. And Cheney/Bush/Big Oil represent Corporate interest over Americans interest every damn day.
Imagine the common citizenry, in ALL 50 states, supporting morality, decency, fair play, and an equal shake. Imagine a middle class America uniting against the elite war profiteers and oil barons of the Bush Administration.

Cartoon Breakdown for the Intellectually Challenged
This is for the Fox Network crowd. Stay tuned for a very special QVC bonus sale after this important message...
Yes, you.
You are the cavemen, the bushbots, and the Proud Amerkun Heroes that put the Dumb in Freedom. You are enthusiastic about what you believe in which is: God, John Wayne, and free market capitalism (not necessarily in that order). You believe in God, but you don't go to church and you can easily discount most of Christ's actual teachings as "liberal bullshit".
You get most of your information from the mainstream media that you claim to hate. You watch a lot of television- mainly Fox news followed by Fox's stream of semi-porn crap shows. You work hard for your dollar, Although you believe that you are the only one that does. "not like them damn mex-ee-cans or them welfare people that have it made, driving in new cad-ee-lacks to pickup their gubmint checks". You bitch about the price of gas in the same breath that you praise Bush's "Economee".
You whine that no one understands that we need to Kill a LOT of people, I mean - A LOT- of them if we are ever to protect ourselves. I mean almost every-damn-body. "That's how ya end terrarism, bud." You have never been in the military, but if you were, look out, cuz you would kick some ass, I'm a-telling ya, boy.
You think that Free market capitalism is where it's at and don't let none of those pinko commies tell you anything different. Even though free market capitalism has killed American manufacturing and given us a Chinese supplied Wal-Mart in every city in America. You hate Unions although they were the only thing that made the 50's such a "golden era" in American industry. You have two or three elderly relatives who are living off the most succesful American program out there- a prime example of Socialism at work, that is, if you haven't shipped them off to a semi-state owned nursing home yet.
So there you are, a little confused about which guys are good and which ones are bad. "Who's wearing the black hats, Mee-Maw?" Mee-maw, god bless her, don't have the time, energy, or the inclination to explain it to you. So she pops another heart med and ignores you. Which is why I am here to splain it to you for the eventual benefit of her, and Every other American out there who is actually paying attention.
I know you probably got all perplexinated by the words. So just go back up to the top, take a long hard look at yourself, then come back down heah and look at the cartoon illustrations of our country's leadership. Feel free to print and cut them out and glue them to your fridge or something for future reference.
(What I wouldn't give for a REAL AMERICAN HERO)
And, it really IS that simple, (and you know you want it simple). The guys running our country (into the ground) are the guys with the black hats. They are the only ones who are capable of harming the American people right now: by not protecting our borders, by not helping bolstering the U.S.Dollar and economy, and by forcing America to continue sucking on the Oil teat.
But, I'm here to tell you, there IS an Alternative. And that is new blood. Support Americans who are trying to pull these clowns off of their ivory towers and do something GOOD for our country. Support Reid, Edwards, Clark, Joe Wilson, Al Gore. They are fighting for YOUR freedoms and your country. Bush, Cheney, Robertson, Lieberman are just fighting for the spoils.

Of rats and retainers.
The house, the house, the house is on fire.
Burn motherfucker.
BURN.
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/01/23/libby-sacrificed-to-save-rove/
One by fucking one. Til all these pestilential rats are gone from our government.
I DO consider the American ideal and our Constitution as sacred. There are very few things that I hold sacred. And I have been twisted this way and that for the past few years by the actions of these mealy-mouthed lying bastards in government.
I have been at turns, incredibly angry, horribly sad, and ultimately just sickened at what these absolute immoral, unpatriotic TRAITORS have done to our country, to our laws, to our freedoms, and mainly to our people.
I have listened, argued, and fumed at the stupid weaklings who think that our President is somehow more important than our Constitution. I have watched these mindless cunts worship blindly at the altar of Republican fascism. I have held each new injustice committed by the "men" who are in the "leadership" of our country close to my heart- I have let their evil, treasonous actions smolder in my American breast while I worked toward making more people aware of the awful truth about our President's men.
Today, I see them, once again turning on each other. Fitzgerald is putting on the heat, but he needs the support of not only our New Democratic leadership in Congress, but also the support of the American people. Make your Reps know in no uncertain terms that you support FULL INVESTIGATIONS and CRIMINAL PROSECUTION for these armchair Generals who have committed crime after crime against our Country, against our Military, and against our people, all in order to make themselves richer.
Support the Death Penalty for War Profiteers and War Criminals.
If we, as a country, are to prevent such immense misuse of our entire Nation's Government and resources in the future- we have to punish the men who are responsible as fully as possible.
There are 3,000 American families who don't have their children because these bastards wanted to make a fast buck by stealing Saddam's oil. But they fucked that up, didn't they?
Apparently the ONLY DAMN THING that these crooks are good at is hiding what they have been doing. Everything else is just a supreme fuck up, from not protecting America from terrorists to not rescuing an American city from natural disaster to ruining the value of the U.S. Dollar. It's just one amazing blunder after another. It's time for REAL Investigations.
The lives of 3,000 American servicemen are worth that much, right?

Undead Politicians...
Deconstructing McCain.
Is he the biggest Republican contender for the next Presidential elections? God, I hope so.
SusanUnPc from No Quarter has a good round up of exactly why McCain is worthless and impotent and will continue to be so.
The McCain Myth
He's taking in the worst of the neocon advisors that have been abandoned by anyone with any common sense. And he's beginning to adopt Bush's deer-in-the-headlights stare.
"Must-be-President! Must-be-strong-on-Iraq. More Troops! More troops" he mumbles as he shuffles detachedly in circles.
Another Zombified politician for a zombified Republican constituency. McCain still has some liberals and moderates fooled. Don't be one of them. He's just another incumbent who once had some backbone and something important to say. But his time in Washington has reduced him to a simple shell, with no soul within. His sole interest lies, like Lieberman, in simply holding on to his position, with no real thoughts for anything else. He will say anything, he will do anything, if he thinks it will keep him knee deep in lobbyist and donor contributions. He will accept any insult from President Bush, and then rush in for a pat on the head.
America isn't satisfied with the status quo at this point. At one time, we truly seemed to want politicians who did nothing, and were powerless by default. Not anymore. The time for loud talking Senators who can't muster the guts to act- (if there was such a time) is over.
Limp, ineffectual, two-faced bastards are being culled from the governmental herd. McCain is no "Maverick". He's the old bull grazing outside the herd, hoping that when the herd starts to move he'll be, somehow, in the lead by trying to stay out of the way. Not very likely. And if in some odd circumstance he ends up at the front, he'll soon be overtaken as his inability to make decisions and his fear of disapproval shadow his every move.

Freedom is Speaking Freely
From C&L : Bill O'Reilly versus Martin Luther King, Jr.
O'Reilly:
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!"
Martin Luther King, Jr:
"The time has come for America to hear the truth about this tragic war. Because I agree with Dante, that the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in a period of moral crisis, maintain their neutrality. There comes a time when silence is betrayal. Even when pressed by the demands of inner truth, men do not easily assume the task of opposing their government's policy, especially in time of war.
There are those who are seeking to equate dissent with disloyalty. It's a dark day in our nation when high level authorities will seek to use every method to silence dissent. Something is happening and the people are not going to be silent. The truth must be told.
And I say that those who are seeking to make it appear that anyone who opposes the war in Vietnam is a fool or a traitor or an enemy of our soldiers is a person who has taken a stand against the best in our tradition.
There is something strangely inconsistent about a nation and a press that will praise you when you say 'Be nonviolent toward Jim Clark', but will curse and damn you when you say 'Be nonviolent towards toward little brown Vietnamese children!' There is something wrong with that press!"

The Good News of the Day
EXXON backs off attacking Global Warming, accepts the scientific data (finally).
Full Article
Ah, it's a brave new world with Democrats running the show now. One by one, the corporate polluters who have been using backroom deal lobbyists to buy off the Republican party are realizing they can't buy the Democratic party. And they are having to face this simple fact:
Global Warming is real.
(And by the way, Cigarettes cause cancer). duh.
I swear, every time I looked up, George Bush was appointing yet another Energy Industry crony to a position of "conservation" and the raping of America's woodlands, wetlands, national parks, and waterways would begin.
It seemed as if he was dead set on making America one big crater, strip mining our country for immediate profits. Ahh, accountability is like a breath of fresh air. And everyone of you misguided people out there that BELIEVE that Corporate America has got America's best interests at heart- most likely has never worked for a corporation before...
But if you still want to believe that Bush and the Corporate Robber barons are good for America, I can set you up with the perfect date - Larry Kudlow, with corporate sunshine beaming up his closeted gay ass. And you two can skip to my lou down to wallstreet and masturbate over the Glorious rising Dow and cry together that Dubya is so misunderstood.

Escalation Part II
A few brave Republicans have taken up the No More! chant and are standing against President Bush's escalation plans in Iraq.
Sen. Hagel (R-Neb) leads the charge as he grilled Condoleeza Rice and chastised her for her lies.
(from MSNBC: )
In a heated exchange with Hagel, a potential presidential candidate in 2008, Rice disputed his characterization of Bush’s buildup as an “escalation.”
“Putting in 22,000 more troops is not an escalation?” Hagel, a Vietnam veteran and longtime critic of Bush’s Iraq policy, asked. “Would you call it a decrease?”
“I would call it, senator, an augmentation that allows the Iraqis to deal with this very serious problem that they have in Baghdad,” she said. She disputed that Iraq was in the throes of a civil war.
To that, Hagel said, “To sit there and say that, that’s just not true.”
Contact Sen.Hagel to show your support for Republicans who stand up to George Bush and his failed dream in Iraq. Let him know that America HAS spoken, and the political futures of those Republicans who still hang on Bush's coattails will be short. Bush has almost single handedly destroyed the Republican party with his "dream" for controlling the oilfields of Iraq. True Conservatives must distance themselves from Bush and listen to their constituents.
(again, From the MSNBC article)
Republican Sen. George Voinovich of Ohio also said Bush could no longer count on his support.
“You’re going to have to do a much better job” explaining the rationale for the war, “and so is the president,” Voinovich told Rice. “I’ve gone along with the president on this and I’ve bought into his dream and at this stage of the game I just don’t think it’s going to happen.”
Again, show some support for those Republicans who are strong enough to stand against Bush and for America. Contact Sen. Voinovich here
Getting out of Iraq will take a bi-partisan effort to defeat any filibusters. Who would be such an anti-American coward as to support Bush against the American people? Why, Sen. McConnell of Kentucky would:
(from MSNBC)
The Nebraska Republican vowed to “resist” the plan, but the Senate’s top Republican, Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., threatened a filibuster to block any legislation expressing disapproval of Bush's strategy.
Please, contact HIM as well, and express the American opinion. Tell him what you think about filibustering efforts to save American lives and get us out of the Iraq quagmire.
And what are other Senators saying concerning the new escalation?
From the biggest two-faced bastard out there:
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., expressed both doubts and optimism about the strategy.
Ah yes, having an actual OPINION is too much for the likes of McCain. Our favorite Republican mole, Lieberman, (thanks For nothing Connecticut!) of course Loves Bush strategy and is "staying the course". I don't encourage anyone to contact this steaming pile of excrement. He's bought and paid for and I don't expect he listens to any of his constituents any more.
One Democrat who previously supported Bush on Iraq has changed course, however. Senator Bill Nelson had this to say as he withdrew his backing, after a 12 day visit to the Middle East:
“I have not been told the truth over and over again by administration witnesses, and the American people have not been told the truth,” Nelson said.
You can contact him and welcome him back to the reality based community here.
It's time to take back our country from these short-sighted imbeciles. It's time to push Morality and Responsibility. The end doesn't justify the means, and in George Bush's dreams, the Means cannot result in a decent end.
Winning battles, losing wars
Bush just can't help himself. And if the Democrats don't stand up to him NOW and emasculate this fool, thousands more Americans (not to mention tens of thousands of Iraqis) will die.
Usually, I would cull information from 4 0r 5 different sources to show what military folks are saying that directly contradicts the President. But, today, ONE Solitary article from MSNBC today says it all. Holy cow- Even the mainstream media is FINALLY getting it right.
EXCERPTS
Bush- "Even if our new strategy works exactly as planned, deadly acts of violence will continue -- and we must expect more Iraqi and American casualties."
...
The last time the U.S. military fought both Sunni and Shiite elements in Iraq was the spring of 2004, which became one of the most difficult times in the war. U.S. commanders were stunned to face a two-front conflict against Sunni insurgents in Anbar province and Shiites in Baghdad and across a broad swath of south-central Iraq. Troops from the Army's 1st Cavalry Division fighting in Sadr's stronghold of about 2 million Shiites in eastern Baghdad became enmeshed in a series of clashes resembling the movie "Black Hawk Down." Sadr's militias besieged isolated U.S. patrols and took over police stations, schools and municipal buildings.
An Army officer who recently commanded a battalion in Baghdad predicted last night that the plan would fail because Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and his government "will do things to maintain protection" of Sadr's forces. He also dismissed as "happy talk" the president's notion that the predominantly Shiite Iraqi army and police could reassure pro-insurgent Sunni neighborhoods by conducting foot patrols through them.
Bush said it is now clear that there have not been sufficient troops in Baghdad, and that part of the difference in this approach is that the plan will be adequately resourced. Yet the total number of U.S. troops in Iraq after the planned increase will be about 153,000, less than the peak of about 165,000 in December 2005. Military experts last night wondered, as one said, how a "thin green line" of 17,500 additional soldiers in Baghdad could affect the security situation in a city where many of the 5 million residents are hostile to the U.S. presence. "Too little, too late -- way too late," said retired Col. Jerry Durrant, who has worked as a trainer of Iraqi forces.
...
"The 'surge' is actually quite small," said retired Army Col. Andrew Bacevich, who compared it with the 206,000 additional troops that Gen. William Westmoreland requested in Vietnam in 1968. "In effect, Bush is counting on the Iraqis to pull our bacon out of the fire," Bacevich said, adding that there is no evidence that the Iraqi military and government are capable of doing so.
Democrats won across the board in record election results for several reasons- one of which was that the American people want our troops out of Iraq. President Bush is deadset on continuing to destabilize the region by keeping our troops in harms way, stirring up the hornets' nest. His goal is simple- chaos. He is trying to buy time until we can secure the oil rights and 30 year contracts on Iraqi oil. Unfortunately, this twit is ignoring EVERYTHING else as he focuses on his one goal.
Saudis are now trading in their dollars for Euros. Iran, emboldened by the U.S. quagmire in Iraq, presses forward with their Oil Bourse, dealing exclusively in Euros. We won a battle only to lose the war. President Bush's actions have cut the throat of the American dollar, long tied to oil as its currency standard. It Was about the oil, but more than that- it was about U.S. maintaining the dollar as supreme currency when dealing with oil. Now, it will take more U.S. dollars to buy EVERYTHING, even if we do manage to control the Oil fields of Iraq. ( A BIG IF).
It is time for President Bush to be taken out of power. If we cannot impeach him, then I pray that the Democrat majority, along with a few sane Republicans (who might want to hang on to their jobs in future elections) can totally render this utterly incompetent president impotent for the remainder of his "rule".

Waste... What's conservative about it?
Okay, well I guess I was just locked out of blogger for yesterday. So, I posted on the Old House of the Rising Sons ...
The subject of that one still blows my mind - $1 million dollars spent for each of the 500,000 Iraqis that have died. Come on, Cavey- We CAN agree that's a waste, can't we? Can we agree that spending that much moneyis outrageous? Hang a war profiteer- distribute their earnings from Iraq to both the families of our casualties here and doing something real for Iraq after we get the hell out of there.
Damn. What a monumental waste. Here' something a little lighter for your hump day:

Environmentalists stop VX waste dumping
Score one for the Good guys, also known to us crazy liberals as the American Public.
Bush's carefully appointed leadership of both the CDC and EPA signed off on this madness. But Environmentalists stood firm and prevented the Governtment's plan TO DUMP VX NERVE GAS WASTE into the DELAWARE RIVER.
Jesus mfn Christ. Will it EVER STOP?
http://www.newsjournal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070106/NEWS/701060336/1006/NEWS
Here is the Initial CDC report- http://0-www.cdc.gov.mill1.sjlibrary.org/nceh/demil/reports/VX/vxreportfindings.htm, in which the EPA finds that DuPont has not shown sufficient evidence that they could adequately treat the wastewater.
The EPA shortly reversed their position. http://www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/111-02262006-618484.html
Our Government "watchdog" agencies were about to allow one of our own weapons of mass destruction to be treated and dumped into a river which serves to supply drinking water to millions of Americans. But, under pressure from state officials and environmentalists, DuPont relents and backs out of the deal, citing concerns about lawsuits and their business relationship with the state of New Jersey.
Now the military will have to deal with the waste on-site.

Israel pushing Iran Invasion
Ariana discusses a conversation with Wesley Clark at the brunch preceding Pelosi's swearing in...
In the article, Arnaud speculates that Hillary Clinton will take the fight to Iran for Israel as America's next president.Clark was really angry about what he'd read in this column by UPI Editor at Large Arnaud de Borchgrave. In the piece, which Clark quickly forwarded to my BlackBerry from his Trio, de Borchgrave details Bibi Netanyahu leading the charge to lobby the Bush administration to take out Iran's nuclear facilities, and paints U.S. air strikes against Iran in 2007/08 as all-but-a-done deal.
"How can you talk about bombing a country when you won't even talk to them?" said Clark. "It's outrageous. We're the United States of America; we don't do that. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the military option is off the table -- but diplomacy is not what Jim Baker says it is. It's not, What will it take for you boys to support us on Iraq? It's sitting down for a couple of days and talking about our families and our hopes, and building relationships." When we asked him what made him so sure the Bush administration was headed in this direction, he replied: "You just have to read what's in the Israeli press. The Jewish community is divided but there is so much pressure being channeled from the New York money people to the office seekers."
God, the sheer arrogance. The Jewish community is so obsessed with killing their neighbors that they can't see the bigger picture happening in America. The worldwide Jewish community is largely committed so much to Israel and their sense of whipping boy status that they cannot see that they have become the one holding the whip. They are, like Bush, trapped in their own bubble. As they kill thousands of their neighbors a year, they DARE play victims? And if Bush doesn't take on Iran, prominent Israelis are speculating that president Clinton 2 (Hillary) will do so. Oded Tira, the chairman of Israel's Association of Industrial Manufacturers, and former chief artillery office in the IDF, said, "Bush lacks the political power to attack Iran. As an American air strike in Iran is essential for our existence, we must help pave the way by lobbying the Democratic Party, which is conducting itself foolishly, and U.S. newspaper editors."
Writing in Ynet News (online Yedioth Ahronoth), Tira said, "We need to turn the Iranian issue to a bipartisan one and unrelated to the Iraq failure. Hillary Clinton and other potential presidential candidates in the Democratic Party (must) publicly support immediate action by Bush against Iran."
It is sickening and disheartening, but not unexpected, that they expect the Democrats to take over as their next teat to suck on. They can throw their money and support at the Democrats, and I expect a few to be swayed. But what they do not realize is that tens of thousands of Americans are waking up to what Israel has been up to for so long. I pray that the Israeli peace movement can gain new ground with all the new supporters from America, like myself. Joining the fight against the Israeli Apartheid and naked aggression is TRULY the first step against crushing terrorism.
And Iran? Ha! What a sickening neocon joke. The Democrats are not going to fight your wars for you like the Republicans have, Israel, the wars that YOU sponsor - wars that do NOT need to be fought.
On top of that Americans are tired of supporting your tinhorn nazi tactics against your neighbors. If you keep crying out War! War! you will end up getting it. And this time, Without your largest superpower ally. It is time for peace and reconciliation. Put away your racist rhetoric and your sense of martyrdom. I am a Native American. I know a lot about having your people slaughtered. In fact, I know so much, that I will not stand to watch you commit atrocities against the Palestinians and the Lebanese. I cannot stand a hypocrite. And the Israeli warhawks are the worst kind of hypocrites. Men that commit evil acts under the guise of protecting themselves against evil.
Americans, look around you- look at what the warhawks have done to us with the war in Iraq. 3010 dead, and over 20,000 severely wounded. Billions upon Billions wasted. A dollar value that is dropping like a rock. Americans hated globally now. And for what? To protect Israel? For oil?
Every American knows without a doubt, now, that terrorists have gained ground DUE To the invasion of Iraq. This war has increased Al Quaeda from scattered cells to a huge network with real gains against the American military. The American people are being played like fools by both the government of Israel and OUR OWN Government- We are against Al-Sadr one day, Bush tells us, and the next day, his people are lynching Saddam. These idiots in Washington are playing games, propping up one group after another, after denouncing it, because they don't know what to do. Stop supporting these fools, if you still are, and start working towards getting our troops out of this damn mess.
And if someone says we need to Invade Iran- Grab that asshole by the shirt, look him dead in the eye and ask him "What the fuck do we need TWO Iraqs for?"
Use your eyes and your brains. Please.
Please.

Republican Regrouping
Day the Death Star Died
It's a bad day for Republicans. I wish I had some Youtube of Rangel kicking Cheney out of his office today... Go Cheney Yourself
Congratulations to the Rebels who have defeated the Empire, castrated the Emperor, and maimed the Death Star machine of the Republican Congress.
Infected America
In the What-the-fuck-is-wrong-with-these-people department, here's a story of one blogger taking on Big Media and the hate radio they sponsor...
Kos story
It's good to see individual Americans making a difference against Big Media. America has been infected by an rising number of bloodthirsty, dishonorable, sick bastards. For me to point this out DOES NOT Mean that I am weak. It means that I am strong enough to stand up against the sick people among us.
It DOES NOT mean that I haven't got the balls to "do what needs to be done". Killing first, blundering mindlessly into foreign countries with our guns blazing, is not an act of testicular fortitude. It is cowardly and ignorant. And looking around the middle east and the U.S. today, it is fairly obvious that this attitude has become a complete failure in dealing with Iraq. Did having Hitler make Germany more powerful? Did having Stalin make Russia invincible? For the briefest of moments, Hitler's kill everyone-but-us mentality brought them glory. For a little bit longer, Stalin's brand of fascist overlord rule gave them the appearance of strength.
But it was all an illusion, wasn't it? Hated, reviled, discredited... History now relegates these men, once loved by large groups of their countrymen, to the pile labeled monsters and madmen. To these men, the end justified the means. Surely this could not be further from the truth. Because the "end" that they foresaw was corrupted by the means itself.
The MEANS is all. It is not only how other countries see the United States of America, but it is also how we see ourselves. When I look and see, listen and hear American men and women on radio and television endorsing the worst kind of inhumanity, I see a weakened country. I see a sickness infecting our country, a disease that must be treated lest it spread. And it is not the righteous tone that is taken by these sick bastards that bothers me. It is the utter glee with which they speak when they fantasize graphically of stomping other Americans to death for their opinions, or hanging journalists they disagree with.
Fantasizing about killing people in the most painful ways imaginable is NOT healthy. It is the sign of a sick mind. It is a sign of psychotic imbalance. Someone whose mind, unhinged, races along these bloody roads cannot be reasoned with. They have lost their humanity, even if only momentarily. They have lost their ability to logically assess situations and make sane decisions.
This is Weakness. This is fallibility. This is a mental disorder that is keeping many Americans from being able to connect the dots- to put the facts together. They have lost their ability to comprehend what is going on. And so, I watch, horrified- as the men who are in control blindly and stupidly make mistake after mistake. Unable to grasp the reality of what he has done, President Bush continues to make the wrong decisions. Emotionally locked into his paranoid world view- he keeps lashing out. And his robotic followers, the acolytes of his cult of confusion, increasingly want to kill not only the enemy but also their own countrymen who are trying to wipe the fog from their minds.
When will it stop? Most of America understands that a temporary troop surge of 20,000 men just means 20,000 more targets in Iraq. Most of America understands that another 1500 American soldiers will die this year as Bush tries to hold onto the oil fields of Iraq. Most of America sees the dollar falling, the Euro rising, and even Bush's steadfast arab allies (Saudi Arabia) abandoning him, moving their investments from U.S. treasuries to European ones.
But as we are churning in quicksand, struggling to get ourselves out of the mire we are held down by the few sick bastards that are standing on our shoulders.
We will only rise when we can pull back the curtain on this illness and reveal to our fellow Americans that these hate-mongers are cancerous tumors on our society. We have to stop feeding the cancer. IT WILL take all of us working together to reach out to our neighbors and families and make them understand. It will take boycotts and expose's of the sick media talk show hosts and their murderous insanity.
We can make a difference. We already have, by the historical Democrat victory made in November, even though a majority of Americans are not in line with the actual Democratic party right now. Voting was and is important, but there is so much more to be done. Help prop up the spines of your representatives- Make sure they understand that they WILL lose their jobs (apparently the only thing most of them care about) if they do NOT help "wipe the fog" from Bush's mind. Impeachment or not- It is time to re-deploy out of a failed endeavor in Iraq. It will take the strongest Americans to defeat the corporations, the incumbents, the military-industrial complex and the neocon movement.
Find your strength. Find your honor. Find your red-blooded American sense of duty. It is time for the will of the people to be heard.

Talking to God or Officially ignoring Him
This was pretty weird... with the "Blasphemy Challenge", young Americans are making official videotaped denials of God via Youtube.
(It's the God-damned Internet!)
In my own hell-raising, Half-Atheist/Half-Heathen refutations of God I was never this official.
The last time I renounced the Great spirit/Great Nothing, I was standing on a top of a plateau during a lightning storm with an almost empty 30 pack of Beer shouting "Strike me down" and other witticisms. But hey- this is just a normal West Texas weekend...
(Unruly child of God - or useless egomaniacal drunken exercise? I'm not at liberty to divulge.)
I like to say that My God, if he exists, has a sense of humor.
(Hell, I hope so, anyway)
I've never felt the need to announce my disbelief on the internet, but it is a welcome change to all the christian proselytization...Their intent was to encourage atheists to come forward and put their souls on the line, showing others that you don't have to be afraid of God. The particular form of the challenge was chosen because, by one interpretation, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, a part of the Christian Trinity, is the only sin that can never be forgiven. And once something you've said gets posted on YouTube, as any number of celebrities can attest, you never live it down.

Blasphemy Challenge : "Do You Have A Soul You're Not Using?"
And lest I be judged ... here's what the other side is up to .... Please God, Don't strike me down
Pat Robertson is talking to God again...Evangelical broadcaster Pat Robertson said Tuesday that God has told him that a terrorist attack on the United States would cause a "mass killing" late in 2007. "I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear," he said during his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network. "The Lord didn't say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that." Robertson said God told him about the impending tragedy during a recent prayer retreat. God also said, he claims, that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.
Looks like it's time for me to grab a 30 pack and climb that plateau again to straighten out this mess...

655,000+1. What an inspiring achievement. All the Xtian taliban, Likud shills, oil patch cronies, military/industrial errand boys & girls and other assorted corporate nut rinsers who populate and fluff the Cheney administration jackasses must be harder than a wedding pecker (or wetter than a West Viginia gully washer, depending) at this bit of snuff porn. Me, not so much.
See, I figured we had better things to do than kill 655000 innocent Iraqis, waste over 3249 faithful US/UK coalition soldiers, maim another 8000 and wound another 36000, trash our reputation and burn through $2 trillion we could've spent advancing real national interests just so Moqtada al-Sadr and Ali Khamenei can have their long overdue revenge and hegemonic moment in the sun. I've always been a bit (actually quite a bit) socially awkward. Fuck it.
It's a good thing old Justice Robert Jackson ain't alive to witness this dog's breakfast. He'd fucking flip so fucking bad, old Total Dick and half the cabinet would have their hair mussed so bad they'd regret the day they were spawned. But that'd actually be good, seeing Justice Jackson kick Cheney's nutsack into his watchpocket.
Here, let me thrown in some party cheer:
"Who encouraged Saddam to invade Iran in 1980, which was the greatest war crime he has committed for it led to the deaths of a million and a half souls? And who sold him the components for the chemical weapons with which he drenched Iran and the Kurds? We did. No wonder the Americans, who controlled Saddam's weird trial, forbad any mention of this, his most obscene atrocity, in the charges against him. Could he not have been handed over to the Iranians for sentencing for this massive war crime? Of course not. Because that would also expose our culpability."

The Cheney administration fails to realize this primitive exculpatory provocation merely sows the wind. Please, don't nobody spoil the surprise by pointing out that whirlwind stuff, OK? Thanks.

Happy New Year, QG, NS, and HCG! Caveman- I wish you the Hangover that I SHOULD have.. of course, it's early so I expect I have plenty of time for it to sneak up on me. My new years resolution is to stop watching the Dallas Cowboys and quit getting my damn hopes up because their defense has went to shit...
And to all a good night, a good morning, And HEY REMEMBER- We are ONE YEAR CLOSER TO GETTING RID OF George W. Bush! Thank God, Bubba Buddha, Allah, the Jew Zeus, and fifteen other random deities...
You, know, just so ya know- I might actually start find some damn religion if GOD, in all his glory, would see fit to smite a few assholes this year.
Any-fucking-way... Power to the People!
