Pharisee Politics

I was channel surfing yesterday when I ran across someone just PLOWING into the Lubbock City Council on a local public access channel showing last week's city council meeting.
.
He was really riled up and talking about what an embarrassment the City Council and David Miller were for the whole Chippendale's debacle...
.
It was about a five minute statement and I didn't recognize the graying hair, the nondescript appearance, but after about a minute, I DID recognize the voice- It was none other than Wes Nessman, of local radio station FMX and man, was he telling the mayor what was up! I am going to see if I can find a transcript. It was a beautiful thing.
.
He demanded answers for the extra cost to Lubbock for sending over the paddy wagons and the massive number of police sent to Jakes to arrest the eight Chippendales' dancers. "Were they armed and dangerous?" He demanded to know why the request by Jakes' for a permit was ignored, not denied nor approved in a timely fashion, which would have prevented this national embarrassment. He inquired if Lubbock employed "Pelvic thrust specialists" who could tell us just exactly how many pelvic thrusts dictated lewdness. And in the end he told the city council that we are big boys here in Lubbock and the LAST thing we needed was for David Miller and his ilk to legislate their personal morality onto others. I wish I had the exact quote, but he finished up with something like - Politics is a dirty business and if they were so concerned with morality that they should all resign immediately. UPDATE: Found a tiny bit of a quote in the Texas Tech newspaper-
.

Some of the requests Nessman made of the city council concerned whether or not all businesses are being treated fairly and equally, explanation for the Chippendales incident and a request that anyone who "cannot separate your moral agenda from your political agenda" to step down.
.
He said his piece and left, still visibly angered and disgusted. Shocked applause followed him out. I wrote about Mayor David Miller prior to the elections on the Old House of the Rising Sons. It was when I attended the Jesus Alliance's Meet the Candidates Debate, where Republican Candidates for the House of Representatives on down to local District Attorneys were quizzed on their Religious and Moral "standing".
.
Upon re-rereading my notes on Miller prior to his subsequent election, I realize that he was everything I thought he was. Neither of our mayoral candidates were worth a shit, but at least Martin wasn't as full of shit as Miller is. Violent crime is up this year with several murders and robberies just in the past month, and Miller has our task force putting bikinis on the strippers over at the Boom-Boom Cabaret and preventing the wives of Lubbock from getting decent masturbation material as they go home to their hypocrite hubbies.
.
You know, sometimes it seems like a good idea to put these "god-fearing" types in political office, because you want to believe that they ARE good people, and they will do good things. But time and time again, you see the results. They quickly forget every single thing in the bible about greed and power and simply focus on sex, sex, sex.
.
Even people in West Texas are starting to get fed up with these Pharisee-Politicos...

Maybe they were pissed because some of the Chippendale's dancers wouldn't go home with them and give them a massage OR not be able to score some crystal meth for them (ala Ted Haggard). From Lubbock to Fort Worth ain't nothing but Ign't MOTHERFUCKERZ (that's what my soulful brothers and sisters say instead of ignorant, they are IGN'T!)
