Sacrificing your child to your Religion

Canadian Seal Hunters now required to kill baby seals before they start skinning them

Strip Club where 12 year old runaway danced nude cannot be shut down

Demonica Abron, 27, who worked as a stripper in the club, and David Bell, 22, have been charged with felony sexual performance of the child in connection with making the 12-year-old work at the club. Both are also accused of engaging in organized crime.

Bell is accused of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and aggravated kidnapping.

He was being held at the Dallas County Jail on Thursday in lieu of a $450,000 bond. It was unclear if Bell had an attorney.

Abron also faces a prostitution charge.

I am always amazed and horrified when I read of people who expect prayer to cure their kids. I am reminded of the story of the guy whose house was being flooded and the local authorities urged him to evacuate and he kept saying God would save him, even after boats and a helicopter both tried to rescue him as he sat on his roof with the ever-rising waters coming up around him. When finally perished and he got to heaven he said "God, why didn't you save me?" and God said, "I sent two boats and a helicopter, what more did you want Me to do?"

The parents should realize that modern medicine is God's boats and helicopters. He can't do this stuff all alone! That's why He gave us brains!

The baby seal thing always depresses me...I have a friend who was born in Newfoundland, Canada and she has a whole different perspective on it and actually supports the seal hunt as she says it help keep people on the island employed and earning a living wage. We can't really talk about that one subject together!

Most of these make me puke. The one about the prayer ... that's a toughie. I certainly think they should have brought their child to the doctor, although I wouldn't call it negligence that they didn't. As for doctors ... it wasn't that long ago they would have sucked her dry with leeches or tried to remove the gnome from her belly.

In other words, I take my son to see the doctor, but I don't have a lot of faith in medical science. This year's great advances will be the Dark Age science of 2900 AD.
